DryGair Greenhouse Tips for Winter

The good people of DryGair have put together a list of best practices and winter greenhouse tips on how to maintain your greenhouse climate during the winter months.
1. When it’s cold outside the best thing to do is close the greenhouse
The best way to deal with humidity when the temperatures are dropping outside is to use a dehumidifier.
2. Save energy costs by heating less
Keeping the screens & vents closed in the greenhouse during the colder weather and using DryGair to control the humidity, helps to keep the heat inside the greenhouse.
3. Thermal screens
Using thermal screens helps to prevent condensation, keeps water off of your plants, and reduces the change of any humidity related diseases.

The DryGair DG-X developed exclusively for small greenhouses, growing rooms & drying rooms.
4. Increase dehumidifier use
To prevent high humidity during the colder months simply extend the operation duration for your DryGair unit to include night, early morning, and late afternoon when sun radiation levels are lower.
5. More grow lights equals higher humidity
During the darker winter months, more supplemental lighting is used. Extra lighting adds extra heat and radiation to the greenhouse that increases plant transpiration. Make sure you monitor the humidity levels closely.
